Premix

Product Type

Oral antibiotic intended for preventive and therapeutic in feed medication in pigs and poultry.

Description and Composition

DENAGARD Premixes are manufactured with a gel-coated tiamulin hydrogen fumarate concentrate. Gel-coating of the active substance improves stability, reduces dustiness and ensures consistent mixing and dispersal in finished feed. DENAGARD Premix for medicated feed contains 20 mg (2% Premix) or 100 mg (10% Premix) tiamulin hydrogen fumarate per gram of product.

Properties

Tiamulin is a bacteriostatic agent, belonging to the group of pleuromutilins. It has a wide spectrum of activity but is particularly active against Brachyspira, Lawsonia and Mycoplasma species. Unlike other antibiotics intended for in-feed medication, tiamulin belongs to a category of antibiotics which is not used in human medicine.

Indications

Treatment and control of Mycoplasma infections (enzootic pneumonia, chronic respiratory disease) and porcine respiratory disease complex. It has a synergistic activity with tetracyclines against other primary (A.pleuropneumoniae, B.bronchiseptica) and secondary (P.multocida) respiratory pathogens.

DENAGARD is particularly indicated for the control, prevention and treatment of swine dysentery (B.hyodysenteriae), porcine colonic spirochaetosis (B.pilosicoli)and porcine proliferative enteropathy (L.intracellularis).
