Ratsnip Block
contains 0.005% w/w difenacoum
A ready-to-use bait for the control of rats and mice in all situations.
Ratsnip Block is effective against rats and mice, including strains resistant to some other anticoagulants.
Two or more feeds are required to produce a delayed mortality (4-10 days): most rodents die in their burrows out of sight. Ratsnip Block contains denatonium benzoate to help prevent accidental human consumption.
PRECAUTIONS
- AVOID ALL CONTACT BY MOUTH.
- WASH HANDS AND EXPOSED SKIN before meals and after use.
- PREVENT ACCESS TO BAIT by children, birds and nontarget animals particularly dogs, cats, pigs and poultry.
- DO NOT PLACE BAIT where food, feed or water could become contaminated.
- SEARCH FOR RODENT BODIES AND DISPOSE OF SAFELY.
- REMOVE ALL REMAINS OF BAIT AND BAIT CONTAINERS AFTER TREATMENT AND DISPOSE OF SAFELY.
- STORE IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, tightly closed, in a safe place.
- EMPTY CONTAINER COMPLETELY and dispose of safely.
- IF YOU FEEL UNWELL seek medical advice (show the label where possible).
NOTE TO DOCTOR
Difenacoum is an indirect anticoagulant. Phytomenadione, Vitamin K1, is antidotal. Determine prothrombin times not less than eighteen hours after consumption. If elevated, administer Vitamin K1 in divided doses. Continue until prothrombin times normalise. After withdrawal of the antidote, continue determination of prothrombin time for two weeks and resume treatment if elevation occurs in that time. NB. Vitamin K3 is not effective.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Explore the site:
Locate runs, burrows, droppings and signs of damage.
Baiting for rats:
Place up to 100g (up to 20 blocks) per bait point. Place a good number of bait points in dry locations throughout the infested area on runs, in burrows and where droppings are seen.
Baiting for mice:
Place up to 20g (up to 4 blocks) per bait point. As mice are sporadic feeders use many bait points, 1 - 2 meters apart, wherever droppings, damage or other signs of activity are seen.
Always:
Lace bait where it is inaccessible to children, animals and birds. Protect and cover bait. For example, place baits in suitable trays or containers under cupboards, behind furniture etc. or use open-ended boxes, lengths of drainpipe or sheets of metal or wood secured at an angle against walls.
Inspection:
Inspect baits frequently, particularly in the first 10 days, replace eaten bait. If a bait point is completely consumed, the quantity should be increased. Continue replenishing baits until they are left untouched.
Clearing up:
Remove all remains of bait and bait containers and dispose of safely.
